According to al-Kurdi, there were 89 floods in 1965. In addition to the development of an aqueduct on Mount Arafat, known in Arabic as Ain Zubaydah, the "Fountain of Hunayn" and a small aqueduct in the far Mecca region are burning. Makkah is located in the Hijaz region, a massive 200 km (124 miles) tall mountain that separates the Nafud Desert from the Red Sea. Severe thunderstorms are also not uncommon in winter. Currently, hydrotherapy flowers and desalination stations are being built to provide the city with the necessary amount of water in the form of human consumption. By the 19th century, water play had all but disappeared before Osman Pasha started restoration and cleaning operations. Mecca's economic system is primarily limited to the production of textiles, furniture, and tools. Several of Mecca's mountain peaks reach heights of 1000 m, and water scarcity has historically been a problem due to Mecca's climatic conditions. These include nearby wells and the Zamzam Well, which usually produces brackish water. Most of the income comes from pilgrimages or additional assets related to pilgrimages such as travel and small trades.
