The history of the city is similar to that of Dammam. It has been called the "first tourist attraction" of the eastern provinces. The city was founded along with Dammam by Dawasir, who settled there in 1923 fearing British repression with the permission of King Abdulaziz Al Saud. 2m wide. Most residential areas in Khobar are built on a grid, but unlike Dammam, most buildings in the city's main areas are a mix of commercial and residential development. Khobar province is divided into several municipalities, with Khobar being the capital.
